Getting started

I just signed up — what do I do first?

Read Your first day with Schoolwati. It's a 30-minute checklist that walks you through everything from setting up your school details to admitting your first student.

Do I need to pay anything to start?

No. Every new account gets a 30-day free trial. After that you pick a paid plan.

What's the difference between a school, campus, and class?

Your school is the top level. Inside it are campuses (physical locations). Inside each campus are classes. See Words you'll see on Schoolwati.

Campuses (Branches)

How do I add another campus?

Open Setup → Branch Settings → + Add Branch. See Creating and managing branches.

Can the same teacher work in two campuses?

Yes. On their profile, assign them to both campuses. They can switch using the dropdown in the top-right.

My screen shows zero students — where did they go?

Most likely you're on the wrong campus. Look at the top-right corner and switch.

Students

How do I admit a new student?

Open Students → Enquiries → + New Enquiry, then click Convert to Admission. See Managing the student lifecycle.

Can I add many students at once?

Yes — upload a CSV file at Data Management → Bulk Import. Download the template first. See Bulk importing students and staff.

How do I move a student to a different class?

Open the student's detail page and click Transfer Section. Their history stays with them.

Fees

How do fee bills get generated?

You set up a fee structure per class. Each billing period (term or month) you click Generate at Fees → Generate Invoices. See Fees, invoices, and payments.

How do parents pay online?

Every fee email has a Pay Now button. They can pay by UPI, card, netbanking, or wallet through Razorpay. See Online payments with Razorpay.

A parent paid twice — how do I refund?

Open the duplicate payment and click Reverse. An admin reviews and approves. See Payment reversals.

Attendance

How do I take attendance?

Open Attendance, pick the date and class, click the absent students, and submit. The day locks once submitted. See Recording attendance.

Can I mark a whole class as on leave?

Yes — on the class grid, click Bulk Action → Mark on Leave.

Parents and communication

How do parents log in?

After their child is admitted, they get a welcome email with a sign-up link (valid for 7 days). See The parent portal.

How do I send a notice to all parents?

Open Communication → Announcements → + New Announcement. Pick the audience, choose how to send it (email, SMS, or in-app), and submit. See Sending announcements.

Staff and roles

How do I invite a new teacher?

Open Staff → + Add Staff, fill in their details, and pick the Teacher role. They get an invite email. See Adding staff and setting roles.

A teacher can't see one of their classes — why?

They need to be assigned to that class for that subject. Set it up at Staff → Teacher Assignments.

Reports

How do I see who paid this month?

Open Reports → Finance → Collections. You can filter by date or campus, and export to Excel.

Can I see who deleted a record?

Yes — every change is in the Administration → Audit Log.

Account

I forgot my password.

Click Forgot password? on the login page. We'll email a reset link valid for 60 minutes.

Your school's website

Does my school get a public webpage?

Yes — every campus automatically has one at schoolwati.com/schools/<your-slug>. Edit it at Public Pages → Edit Branch. See Publishing a branch public page.

How do I raise a support ticket?

Click Helpdesk in the top menu, search for an answer first, and if you don't find one click Raise a ticket. We follow up by email.

Is there a chatbot?

Yes — the chat bubble bottom-right of every page. It searches the help centre and answers questions directly.
