Teacher feedback from parents

How parents rate their child's teachers and how the principal moderates before teachers see it.

Teacher feedback from parents

Different from the Grievance module — teacher feedback is parent-to-teacher input: ratings and comments left after a PTM or at term-end.

How parents leave feedback

  1. Parent opens the portal, picks their child.
  2. Goes to the Teachers tab, picks a teacher.
  3. Rates 1 to 5 stars with an optional comment.
  4. Submits.

A parent can submit one feedback per (teacher, term). Re-submitting overwrites the previous.

Moderation

Feedback isn't shown to the teacher immediately. Communication → Teacher Feedback is the moderation queue:

  1. Each pending feedback shows the parent, teacher, rating, and comment.
  2. The principal or HR reviews.
  3. Approve — the rating counts toward the teacher's aggregate; the comment is shown to the teacher anonymously.
  4. Reject — the rating is discarded; useful for clearly inappropriate comments. The parent isn't notified (avoiding retaliation).

What teachers see

On their dashboard:

  • Aggregate rating — average across all approved feedback this term.
  • Approved comments — anonymous, scrolling list.
  • Trend — rating over the last 4 terms.

Teachers don't see who left each piece of feedback. Specific identities are visible only to the principal.

Anonymous vs identified

Settings → Communication → Teacher Feedback lets the institution choose:

  • Always anonymous — teachers never know who said what. Default — encourages honesty.
  • Identified — teacher sees the parent name. Rare; only if your school culture supports it.

Reports

Reports → Teacher Feedback shows aggregate ratings by department, subject, tenure — for management review.
