Clearing out your test data
While learning Schoolwati you'll probably create some test enquiries, dummy admissions, sample fees. The Reset Data page lets you clean these out before going live with real records.
It's deliberately careful: you have to type the word DELETE to confirm.
What you can clear
Open Data Management → Reset Data. Tick the categories you want to clear:
- Enquiries — everything in the Enquiries module.
- Admissions — pending and rejected admissions.
- Students — active students (clears their attendance, marks, invoices too).
- Employees — staff records (clears their payroll, attendance).
- Fee data — fee structures, invoices, payments.
- Communication — sent announcements, grievances.
Each category is independent — tick only what you want.
What stays
- Your school profile.
- Your campuses.
- Your programs and classes.
- Your roles.
- Your own login.
- The audit log (the reset itself is logged here).
One campus at a time
Reset Data only clears data in the campus you're currently on. To reset multiple campuses, switch between them and run reset for each.
Doing the reset
- Tick the categories.
- Look at the summary — it shows exactly how many records will be deleted.
- Type the word DELETE to confirm.
- Click Reset Data.
- The page reloads with empty grids.
When NOT to use this
- Don't use it mid-year if you have real parents using the system. You'll destroy their history.
- Don't use it to fix a single record — use the individual edit or delete on each record.
- Don't use it without thinking — there's no undo button.
