For Parents

Updating your details

How to change your contact info, password, or photo — and how to ask the school to update your child's records.

Updating your details

This is for parents using the Schoolwati portal. You can change some things yourself; others need approval from the school office.

What you can change yourself

These take effect straight away:

  • Your password — Profile → Security → Change Password.
  • Notification settings — which kinds of alerts you get and how (email, SMS, in-app).
  • Display language — pick from the options the school supports.
  • Your profile photo — upload a new one.
  • Your phone number — change requires confirming the new number by SMS.

What needs the school to approve

Some changes touch records the school depends on, so they go through approval:

  • Your child's name spelling.
  • Your child's date of birth.
  • Your child's blood group or medical notes.
  • Your home address.
  • Adding a second parent or guardian.

To request a change like this, contact the school office directly for now — call them, or visit in person, or use the Grievance section of your portal.

Adding a second parent

If only one parent currently has access, the school can add the second:

  1. Ask the school office to add another parent contact to your child's record.
  2. The new parent gets a welcome email with their own sign-up link.
  3. Both parents can then see the same data and pay fees independently.

Children at different schools

If your children attend different schools that both use Schoolwati, you'll need a separate parent account for each school — there's no way to merge them today.

Closing your account

You can't close a parent account while your child is still actively enrolled. To stop receiving emails, turn off notifications under Profile → Notifications. After your child leaves the school, your account is archived automatically after 6 months.
